Description
On a painting trip with a fellow artist, we spotted this view from along the upper west side of Canandaigua Lake. The elevation and perspective of this location was very interesting being that the lake is near, but far away. The east side is visible as a backdrop, but it was the near landscape that made the scene so paintable. The large cast shadows gave me a quiet foreground while the light area bring the important part of the scene to the observer. Its similar to looking through a covered bridge and seeing the light shape with an interesting scene at the end.
