During my 2005 summer on the cape, I explored the Truro area for subject matter. The building happens to be related to a house that rests above the Pamet River. I deduced that as the shingles and roofing are the same. Now, I didn’t care for the fact that the road went no where that could be seen. So, I decided send the road more directly to the ocean. This adds distance to the painting giving it interest and perspective. I thought the unique design of the siding and what I believe would be called herringbone pattern for the door and shutters. Combined with that is the colors of the building and the roof that make this an appealing image.
