Cune (kewn) Street is in the historical district of St. Augustine. The best way to see the touristy village is on foot. On our first trip to the city in 2020, our nephew took us around to see the hi-lights. Always noticing things in a different light, the sun cast shadows on the taupe building captured my eye. I chose to do this in ink and watercolor as it’s a good technique for architecture and streets. I enjoy this approach to painting as it is very relaxing allowing me to use my drawing skills. The drawing is done with a wooden match for an interesting line.
This painting, done in line and watercolor, has been mounted on a panel, sealed, and varnished with a UV protectant. This eliminates the need for matting and glass.
