“Island Sculpture” could be called “Nature’s Sculpture” as the rock formations were created during the ice age as the great glacier receded. This rock formation and many in the region, have the characteristics of prehistoric times. We do not think about how they came to be, but marvel at the forms and how nature has grown from what seems to be bare rock. From an artist’s point of view, the formations present an abstract shape emerging from below the waters surface, topped by the foliage of pines and grass.
