Description
On a trip to camp along the Schroon in October 2020 with my wife, I was anxious to see the landscape and was not disappointed. It’s just my sort of motif. I would have liked to see the region in the full fall colors but they were still about two weeks from peak. I took my camera along the shore, stepping across stones and mud to get some low eye level shots as a way of making an interesting design. In one location while I was painting, a yellow jacket pestered me so I swiped at the bugger. I wound up getting stung in my right hand. I tried to work through it but eventually the burn was too much. The stinger was in between my fingers making holding brush difficult. I’ll have to get some sting ointment, or I hear toothpaste works well.
This painting, done in watercolor, has been mounted on a panel, sealed, and varnished with a UV protectant. This eliminates the need for matting and glass.
