Description
I learned about Shadow Rock from a guide on the Ausable River while looking for some significant painting references. The Ausable River is in the Adirondacks of New York nearby the town of Lake Placid. My wife and I traveled to the area a few times. Shadow Rock gets the name as fish will lie in the cooler waters due to the “shadow” cast from the overhanging rock. Fly fisherman float their lures above the rock and letting if drift where the fish lie in wait. It’s a very popular spot and this guy in the image was just scooping up his catch when I was there.
