While wintering in Florida in January of 2020, I joined a local group of painters at the lighthouse for a paint out. This work is done with watercolor and Ink. The ink drawing is done first using a wooden match as the tool. Once done, the color is added in a free approach. The finished painting is varnished and protected from the elements. Glass and mats are not required with this process.
This painting, done in line and watercolor, has been mounted on a panel, sealed, and varnished with a UV protectant. This eliminates the need for matting and glass.
